Finally, after 3 years of waiting, I can say I’m a senior. I’m so happy to be in my senior year, on pace to graduate and not worrying about anything, yet. I’m proud to say that I made it here. Throughout high school, I’ve had a very difficult time with a variety of things, so for me to be typing my first journal entry of my senior year, is a huge personal accomplishment to me. It’s my second week of school, and so far, all of my classes are very easy, I’ve had no problem with completing the work and turning it in before it’s due.
Thankfully, I’m on pace in all of my classes and I don’t have to struggle to complete any. I feel as if I’m more motivated than I’ve ever been just knowing that it’s my senior year and I’m almost done. Last semester, I forced myself to pass Geometry before the year was over, and I’m very glad I did since math is my hardest subject, I won’t have to worry about it this year. I’m following the diploma track classes, so I have all of my core classes, and also, Psychology, and French 3. I have two teachers aide periods which will benefit me when I have homework, I’ll be able to complete most of it before I go home. I’m also enrolled in the CNA program, which I feel is going to be a great class for me since I’m planning on becoming a registered nurse someday.
After high school, I plan on moving to anywhere in the Orange County, Los Angeles area, or Riverside County, I’m going to have to make my decision by the first of next year. I love my hometown but I’ve been here for 18 years now, I feel like it is time to explore what else is out there for me. I plan on going to a community college wherever I end up at, and plan on getting into the medical field as a nurse. I love the fact that by the time I graduate I will have some nursing experience and later become a certified nursing assistant and begin to travel my way up until I reach my ultimate goal of becoming a registered nurse, with a bachelor's degree. I realize these goals may seem a bit large for a girl who is just barely figuring out what she wants; I might not even end up doing any of these things. I intend to do everything I set my mind to; to make myself happy. Wherever I end up is probably where I’m supposed to be in the end.
This year, I’m excited for our senior sunrise, senior sunset, grad night, and graduation! Ultimately, I’m excited to make some of the last memories I’ll have as a child, before I enter the adult world and have different priorities for myself and then, I can make new memories as an adult. For right now though, I’m just excited to be in my final year of high school. I can’t wait to see what it’ll bring me.
